pondering and wondering [3] - the role of architects

malaysia is naturally blessed with a generous climate that allows us to have indoor and outdoor spaces luxuriously. thus in planning and designing our built environments, we cannot run away from being automatically unique in our attitude towards architecture especially for being tropicalist / equatorialist as per se. however, some probably agreed of the danger of using climate as the only solution to design decisions. how about the culture which is as equally as important and how about the present increasing impact of the interconnected borderless world and vigorously speedy advancing digital global communication? with all these respects, do we need to define our own brand of architectural character or identity?

as for the facts, architecture must be able to bridge between reality and utopia by offering solution to resolve the present for the benefit of the future and the role of the architects NOT ONLY deals with whatever built fabrics ‘ism’ they entrusted to, but also be responsible to contribute for the benefit of the community’s socio-economic.
